Body Building and Genetics Body Building is a sport that is a bit different from most sports. If you were to pass an athlete on the street that participated in a sport, you would not be able to immediately recognize that they participated in a sport, unless they are body builders. The obvious is overwhelming. The drive to succeed in body building comes from many different sources but usually begins with a little peer pressure. Anyone can become a body builder, typically genetics does play a role in body building but genetics in the case of body building can be overcome. There is no special talent involved in body building, just a strong desire to perfect the physique. A lot of people begin body building as a hobby that is fueled by either some kind of negative peer pressure or positive peer pressure. Some young body builders wind up in the gym to prove a point or to enhance the look of their bodies to attract a partner. It becomes a life long habit. Genetics as mentioned does play a roll in body building. There are certain genetic predispositions that exist that will effect the success of body building. Girth, muscle mass, body fat content all can be attributed to genetics. Genetics can be overcome with a good resistance training routine sometimes called a weight training routine, a diet geared toward successful body building and supplements. Supplements play a key role in overcoming genetics in body building. Protein supplements that are geared toward body building assist the body in rebuilding muscles. Carbohydrate supplements are geared toward keeping the energy level up and also rebuilding muscle mass. These supplements do not actually help overcome genetics but increase the bodies natural abilities. Anabolic steroids are used to overcome genetics in body builders. There is a certain point in body building when the body plateaus, that is the body reaches its genetic limitations. Breaking this genetic barrier is very difficult. Steroids plays a huge roll in being able to break through this genetic plateau. Legal anabolic steroids will take the body to new heights, by increasing hormone levels that are directly related to muscle growth. Using steroids does carry a certain amount of risk, usually this only occurs when the use of steroids is abusive. Purchasing legal steroids also involves some risk and should only be done from a reputable dealer.
