Athletes and Body Builders Athletes and body builders have special dietary needs. They work their bodies to the point of failure and burn far more energy up doing so. There are certain dietary concerns that a athlete and a body builder face that most average folks do not have to worry about. Diet For athletes and body builder the normal dietary requirements do not apply. Muscle nutrition takes precedence in a body builder and athletes diet. Muscle nutrition is the nutrients that feed the muscles specifically. Protein is the building block of muscle. So diets high in protein are favored by both body builders and athletes. Carbohydrates are also consumed en masse to provide the body with the fuel that it needs. There are varying situations where an athlete or a body builder may need to either gain weight or lose weight. The diet needs to be adjusted to achieve either one of these goals. Sometimes the diet is not enough and the athlete and the body builder has to turn to other supplements in addition to the diet. Supplements Anabolic Steroids Anabolic steroids are also sometimes used by athletes and body builders, although they have no nutritional value they still provide the body with additional help in regenerating. Anabolic steroids are the hormones found naturally in the body that stimulates the natural growth responses. There is no doubt that both athletes and body builders have special nutrition requirements and they only way those requirements can be met are through a good diet and good quality supplements.
